Baby Alistair
A life transformed!
Alistair was probably abandoned because of his bad cleft pallette. An operation arranged by the Mercy Home has transformed his appearance. (See right.) He still needs one more operation and then he will be put up for adoption.
Nandini
Nandini, age 2 is a recent arrival. Her family didn't want to keep her and starved her for 3 days. Thank God someone told them about the Mercy Home and they brought her there instead of letting her die. She rarely smiles.
Achaia
Achaia was found abandoned at a bus stop, so no one knows her exact age. She seems to be a bit behind in her physical development so will be put up for adoption when she learns to walk.
Susma
Susma has been with the Mercy Home since birth. Her development is slow but the doctors and unable to discover what is wrong with her. She usuallly looks so sad, but responds beautifully to affection and attention.
