In 2015, we opened Mountain View School to provide quality English-medium education for children from impoverished villages in the region, giving these children the opportunity to realise their potential and break out of the cycle of poverty. We started with three kindergarten classes. Now we have expanded up to 6th standard with a current enrollment of 319 students.

The  School provides a safe and caring environment that encourages the development of socialization skills, independence, and a positive self-image. We celebrate a child’s uniquenessand encourage respect and social interaction. Our vision is for all children to experience learning that is engaging,
fosters a love for learning, and builds success for life.

The school campus is 3.5 acres and protected by fencing and gate. The classrooms have  good natural lighting and ventilation. Each class room is well furnished with lights, fans, computer, smart boards, shelves, desk andbenches for all the students. There are separate clean restrooms for girls, boys and physically challenged students.Good drinking water is provided to the students. A separate play ground is available with safe play equipment and a large sports field is available for sports activities.

Methodology

“For the most high-risk children, enriched preschool environments and excellent primary grade instruction can be a deciding factor between success or failure that will follow them all their lives... No time is as important, or as fleeting, as a child’s early years of life and schooling. Herein lies our greatest hope, and our most practical and effective opportunity for prevention."
 (Burns, M. S., Griffin, P., & Snow, C. E. (1998). Starting Out Right: A Guide to Promoting Children's Reading Success

At our organization, we recognize the pivotal role of kindergarten education. Unfortunately, there exists a significant disparity in educational achievement based on socioeconomic backgrounds, evident as early as six years old. This disparity tends to widen over time, resulting in a higher likelihood for economically disadvantaged children to leave school without proper qualifications compared to their more affluent peers.

To bridge this gap, we prioritize the implementation of modern preschool activities that foster a nurturing environment conducive to positive learning experiences. Our approach encompasses innovative early-learning techniques and activity-based learning, drawing inspiration from renowned institutions like the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential. By providing a solid foundation during these crucial formative years, we enable children to embark on their educational journey with confidence.

Continuing into the primary grades, we remain committed to delivering captivating and engaging education. We ensure our teachers receive training in the latest teaching techniques, including the effective use of Whole Brain Learning. By staying at the forefront of educational practices, we strive to provide an enriching academic experience that stimulates students' minds and encourages their holistic development.

Our affiliation with Bryt Learning Technologies has ensured a high standard of education for the primary grades. This digital education system provides workbooks and daily lesson plans for all major subjects, using activity and skill-based learning which encourages creativity, good English communication skills, collaboration and confidence. They also provide teacher-training and assessment which has greatly improved the quality of teaching and helped our teachers, (who all hale from local villages) hone their skills. This digital education system provides workbooks and daily lesson plans for all major subjects, using activity and skill-based learning which encourages creativity, good English communication skills, collaboration and confidence. Impact

Education wields transformative power, shaping lives of children and future generations. It's a vital pathway out of poverty, offering knowledge and skills for a better life. Additionally, quality education acts as a potent instrument for addressing pressing social issues.

When girls get educated, they are able to become income earners and therefore less of an economic burden on their families. In fact, all of our teachers are from local villages and therefore are able to make a significant contribution to their families. Good education for boys which incorporates values and civic responsibility is also necessary if attitudes towards females are to change.

Once we reach 12th standard, approximately 700 students will be directly impacted, which indirectly impacts many poor families in the community. In addition 32 locals are employed as teachers, ayas, maintenance men, watchmen and gardeners, and drivers. We employ and train local women for our teachers and staff to illustrate the usefulness and importance of the female's contribution to the community. Their salaries provide a very helpful income to their family.
